Women in Their 20s and 30s

Therapy for Women in Their 20s and 30s in NYC

For women who look put together at work and with friends, then feel drained once the day is over.

Who This Page Is For

Fine on the outside, worn down underneath

You may be the one people count on. Work gets done, plans get made and messages get answered, so it can look like everything is under control. Underneath, burnout, anxiety or a heavy mood may be taking a little more energy each week.

Two thoughts often come up at the start of therapy. One is a negative thought that will not leave your head. The other is a sense of failing even while you try your best. Either one is a reasonable place to begin.

What We Work On

Common Starting Points

Burnout

Months of saying yes to work, family and friends until rest no longer feels restful.

Anxiety

Racing thoughts before a meeting, replaying conversations at night or trouble switching off.

Low Mood

Feeling flat on days that should feel good, or losing interest in things you used to enjoy.

The Inner Critic

A voice that grades every choice and finds something you could have done better.

Relationships

Feeling unseen by a partner, or giving more to friendships than you get back.

Big Changes

A move, a new role, a breakup or a loss that changed how the year feels.

How Sessions Work

Weekly time to slow down and sort it out

Individual therapy meets weekly for 45 minutes, in person near Madison Square Park or online anywhere in New York State. The first session sets clear goals, so the work has a direction from the start.

Azia's style is compassionate and direct. She may use CBT to question thoughts that keep replaying, Internal Family Systems to understand the part of you that never lets up, and mindfulness-based approaches to notice stress before it spills over.

Culture and Identity

Room for where you come from

Azia grew up in the Bronx and is proud of her Jamaican heritage. As an Afro-Caribbean woman, she values multiculturally competent care and validates the experiences of people of color. Family expectations, culture and identity can be part of the work whenever they matter to you.

What Can Shift

More confidence, less constant pressure

Therapy may help you catch pressure before it turns into exhaustion, answer the inner critic with something kinder and more accurate, and make choices that fit your own priorities. We work toward more confidence and a better quality of life. No result is promised, and the pace stays yours.
