Room for Your Concerns
Therapy in Flatiron
For the woman who keeps showing up for everyone while running out of room for herself.
In person or onlineWhen Being Capable Feels Expensive
Work gets done. Messages get answered. Yet you finish the day tense, irritated or unable to stop thinking. Women in their 20s and 30s may bring that gap between looking composed and feeling overwhelmed into therapy.
You do not have to wait until your responsibilities become unmanageable. Anxiety, burnout and depression deserve attention even when other people assume you are doing well.
Start With an Ordinary Moment
Azia Carter, LMFT, asks about a recent situation rather than expecting a polished explanation. What happened before you felt overwhelmed? What did you tell yourself afterward? Together, you set clear goals in the first session.
She draws on CBT and mindfulness-based approaches when they fit your concerns. The conversation connects thoughts, feelings and responses without reducing you to a checklist.
Relationships Need Attention Too
For a young couple, the problem may be an argument that returns under different names. Chores, money or time together can become places where each person feels unheard. Couples sessions examine that pattern.
Family conversations can address conflict and changing roles. Individual work can also include grief, career decisions or the uncertainty of early adulthood, with room for what matters most this week.
A Format You Can Return To
Meet in person at our office at 16 Madison Square West, by Madison Square Park, or connect online while physically in New York State. Evening appointments are available, and sessions take place weekly.
Individual appointments cost $200 for 45 minutes. Couples and family appointments are $250 for 60 minutes. Carter Cares is private pay; superbills and Thrizer can support out-of-network benefits, with reimbursement decided by your insurer.
Make Room Before Making Another Plan
We work toward noticing pressure earlier and speaking more clearly about what you need. More confidence or less conflict may become possible, but neither follows a promised schedule.
The free 15-minute phone consultation lets you discuss your concerns and ask about openings. You can consider the fit before committing to a weekly appointment.
