Time for What You Carry
Therapy in Union Square
Therapy when school, work or a relationship change leaves you unsure what comes next.
In person or onlineTransitions Can Feel Uneven
A new role may look exciting from the outside while bringing doubt, loneliness or pressure. Young adults, college students and professionals can talk about that mismatch without having to defend why a positive change feels hard.
Women carrying anxiety, burnout or depression may also need a place to consider their own needs. You can be functioning and still want support with the cost of functioning.
Choose a Consistent Meeting Place
Union Square clients may attend our office at 16 Madison Square West, by Madison Square Park, or choose online appointments from within New York State. Evening openings can be discussed before you begin.
Meetings are weekly: $200 for a 45-minute individual appointment, or $250 for 60-minute couples and family care. Private pay includes access to superbills and Thrizer support for out-of-network benefits; insurers decide coverage and reimbursement.
From a Recent Moment to a Clear Goal
You and Azia Carter, LMFT, start by discussing what has become difficult. A recent interaction often makes the concern easier to understand than a broad label. First-session goals help establish a direction.
Later conversations may look at persistent thoughts, boundaries or relationship patterns. Azia draws on CBT, family systems thinking and other approaches based on the needs you identify together.
When Change Affects More Than One Person
Moving in together, shifting expectations or a career decision can expose disagreements a couple has been avoiding. Shared sessions examine the cycle of the argument and what each partner wants the other to understand.
Families can work on communication around changing roles. Grief also has a place here, including how loss can affect your decisions, relationships and ability to manage the week.
You Do Not Need a Final Answer Today
Therapy can support more confidence in making a decision while still acknowledging its uncertainty. We may work toward less reactive communication or a clearer understanding of what is yours to carry.
A no-cost 15-minute phone consultation is a chance to describe your circumstances and ask whether individual, couples or family sessions would be the right starting format.
