Individual Therapy for Adults

Therapy for Depression in NYC

When mornings feel heavy, interest fades and the distance between how life looks and how it feels becomes difficult to carry.

How Depression Can Feel

The effort may be hard for others to see

Low mood is not always obvious from the outside. You may keep appointments and finish tasks while feeling flat, tired or far away from the people you care about.

Depression can also look like losing interest in activities, pulling back from friends or facing mornings that feel unusually heavy. Therapy gives those changes direct attention without asking you to minimize them.

How We Work

Begin With What Is Manageable

01

Small, concrete steps

When energy is limited, an ambitious plan can add pressure. We identify actions that fit your current capacity and connect them to what matters in your week.

02

The beliefs underneath

Azia uses CBT and psychodynamic therapy to examine harsh conclusions about your worth, history or future. Understanding where a belief came from can create room to answer it differently.

03

Reconnecting with people

Withdrawal can make reaching out feel harder over time. Sessions can explore what gets in the way of contact and what a realistic next point of connection could be.

Goals that account for the day you are having

Individual sessions last 45 minutes each week. We establish clear goals at the first meeting and revisit them as your needs become clearer.

Some weeks may focus on a current relationship or work concern. Other weeks may look closely at a repeated belief, a loss or the gap between what you expect from yourself and what you can carry right now.

What Can Change

More contact with your own life

Therapy may support a better quality of life, greater confidence and more awareness of the patterns affecting your mood. These are possibilities, not promised results.

Progress can be uneven. We pay attention to what helps, what does not and what your goals require next.
