Stability
Build ways to respond when the present feels charged.

Thoughtful, Paced Support
Therapy that starts with the present, respects your pace and makes room for the context around what happened.
Understanding Trauma
Trauma may affect how you respond to conflict, closeness, uncertainty or reminders of the past. You might feel constantly alert, shut down quickly or notice that your body reacts before your thoughts catch up.
Azia has specialized training in understanding and treating trauma. Her style is compassionate and direct, with attention to what helps you remain present as the work develops.
What We Pay Attention To
Build ways to respond when the present feels charged.
Notice tension, shutdown or alertness without judgment.
Understand what brings an old response into a current moment.
Connect repeated reactions to the experiences that shaped them.

Work at Your Pace
Therapy is not a demand to revisit every memory. The first priority is enough stability to notice what is happening now and to make choices about what receives attention.
Azia may use IFS to understand protective inner reactions, CBT to examine beliefs shaped by trauma and mindfulness-based practices to notice body signals in the present.
A Pacing Framework
Identify present supports and ways to return attention to the room.
Notice triggers, protective responses and the situations that repeat them.
Choose what to discuss and how much attention it receives in a session.
Practice responses that fit current relationships, needs and goals.
Culture and Identity
Family, race, culture and identity can shape both an experience and the meaning attached to it. As an Afro-Caribbean woman, Azia brings cultural awareness to trauma work and takes the experiences of people of color seriously.
You decide which parts of your context matter to the work. Therapy can examine personal reactions without separating them from the systems and relationships around you.
